Fosse Way Academy - Apple Regional Training Centre for Lincolnshire

The Regional Training Centre programme helps teachers bring learning to life with digital technology. A nationwide network of Apple-approved Regional Training Centres (RTC) coach primary and secondary teachers in the use of Apple’s award-winning software packages — giving them the know-how to enliven school lessons with images, video and sound.

The Regional Training Centre programme builds on the experience and achievements of many teachers already using Apple technology in the classroom. The programme covers the UK and Ireland, offering all school staff the opportunity to attend a course relevant to their curriculum interests and needs.

Fosse Way was chosen to become an RTC in the Autumn of 2007. This was in recognition of the excellent use of ICT across the curriculum and our commitment to share our experiences with other schools in Lincolnshire.

Our children use video, animation, podcasts and music sequencing software to enhance their learning across the curriculum.

Fosse Way children act as 'experts' when teaching children from other schools how to use the MacBooks

During this training session, pupils from Ling Moor, Bracebridge and All Saints Schools joined us for iLife software training on the Macs - each pupil and member of staff creating a short film.
