IPad in the Classroom - A Teacher's Perspective
Fosse Way Academy is the Regional Training Centre for Apple in Lincolnshire. On Monday September 3rd, a training day for many schools and academies, we are hosting a free training and awareness event for the use of iPads in the classroom.
It will be delivered by Julian Coultas, a renowned Apple Education Mentor and, from my own experience, a quality presenter with a real understanding of the issues of working with primary aged children and technology - he is an ex-teacher himself.
His brief for the session is:
IPad in the classroom - a teacher's Perspective.
This hands-on session will introduce teachers to the practical use of iPads in the classroom.
The session will be informal, fun and non-technical.
Teachers will learn how to quickly harness the possibilities of working with text, numbers and images. We will look at some classroom management approaches for presenting and saving pupils work created on the iPad. Combinations of apps that work well together will be highlighted as will new approaches to learning such as augmented reality apps. There will be plenty of top tips for getting the most from the devices. It is a great opportunity to boost confidence in what is a new and exciting way to learn.
The session will last from 1.00 until approximately 3.15 and will be suited to total novices at using iPads in the classroom through to experienced practitioners who want to find out about the latest Apps. Julian will then be available to discuss any iPad issues, as will Tony Kiddle, an Apple Solutions Expert for Education.
Schools can send more than one delegate but places will be limited should our limits be reached!

I am sure that this free event will be extremely useful to any Lincolnshire school which has already introduced iPads, or those thinking of doing so.
