Making Bug Hotels with staff from Hill Holt Wood.
The children worked brilliantly as a team, chatting about their ideas and listening to each other. They shared out the jobs and helped one another to build their bug hotels together.
The children explored natural materials such as sticks, leaves and pinecones to design and build their own bug hotels. They carefully arranged the materials to create safe, cosy spaces for insects to shelter and thrive.
The children had a great time making Bug Hotels with Sam from Hill Holt Wood.
Whoops-a-daisy Angel
The children in EYFS brought the magic of Christmas to life with their performance of Whoops-a-Daisy Angel for parents and carers. Full of joy and enthusiasm, they sang, danced, and acted with confidence, spreading Christmas cheer to everyone in the audience. Their performance perfectly reflected our school vision of performing to an audience and receiving applause, and it was a wonderful celebration of their hard work and creativity.
A visit from our PSCO
As part of our “People Who Help Us” topic, the children were thrilled to welcome a special visitor from our local community—a Police Community Support Officer (PSCO). During her visit, she spoke to the children about the important role the police play in keeping our community safe. The children enjoyed learning about how officers help people, maintain order, and respond to emergencies. They asked thoughtful questions and were fascinated to hear about real-life examples from her work. It was a fantastic opportunity for the children to gain a deeper understanding of community helpers and the positive impact they have on our everyday lives.
