Physical Education

At Fosse Way Academy, we believe that Physical Education is an essential part of the curriculum, promoting healthy, active lifestyles while developing pupils' physical, social and emotional wellbeing. Our inclusive, progressive curriculum provides engaging opportunities for all pupils to develop confidence, resilience and a lifelong enjoyment of physical activity.

Our carefully sequenced curriculum enables pupils to progressively develop fundamental movement skills, sport-specific techniques and tactical understanding across a broad range of physical activities. Through collaboration, competition and personal challenge, pupils learn to communicate effectively, work as part of a team, demonstrate respect and show good sportsmanship. They are encouraged to reflect on and improve their performance, developing resilience and confidence both in and beyond the classroom.

Alongside high-quality PE lessons, pupils benefit from a wide range of competitive sporting opportunities, enrichment activities and daily physical activity, helping them to understand the importance of leading healthy, balanced lives. By the time they leave Fosse Way Academy, pupils will have the knowledge, skills and motivation to remain physically active, make positive lifestyle choices and enjoy participating in sport throughout their lives.
