Fosse Way Academy is a special place to grow and learn and we all take great pride in being part of it. Children are happy to be here; motivated to do well by caring, inspirational teachers and engaged in our rich and creative curriculum. Our stimulating and nurturing environment supports learning, allowing children to flourish.

Before leaving us, Fosse Way children will have grown something from a seed, getting their hands dirty in the soil. They will have received applause after performing in front of a crowd. They will have tasted food cooked by their own hands. They will have taken part in democracy and developed pride in their community.
Our children will have shown respect for all and spoken out at injustice. They will have asked a million questions, and have a million more to ask. They will have been a good friend, a good listener, a good role model. Our children will take these experiences and values with them out into the world, ready to make it a better place to be. Our children will be ready to make the best of themselves, ready to fulfil their potential.

Our Pre-School provides a safe, secure and bright environment in which children can have fun, learn to play and co-operate with each other, both in the indoor and outdoor classroom areas.
Children have opportunities to make choices and decisions and lay the foundations for future learning.
When starting Pre-School, your child will be in a 'family group' with one of the Pre-School staff. This helps your child feel safe as part of a smaller group and gives us the opportunity to get to know each child very well. It also makes it easier for you as a parent to chat about your child and share information with us.

We believe it is important to give all Pre-School children opportunities to join in whole school activities whenever we can. During the year they will participate in assemblies, performances and use the hall and gym for physical activities.
The Pre-School Day
The Pre-School day is organised to provide two sessions of equal length each day. If your child is late, just bring them into school by the front door as the Pre-School doors are locked when the session starts.
Morning Session
8.45am - 11.45am
Lunchtime
11.45am - 12.30pm
Afternoon Session
11.45am - 2.45pm
Each child is entitled to five funded sessions per week, with additional sessions to be purchased if required. Some children may be entitled to ten funded sessions but parents need to provide a verification code to access these additional sessions. These can be taken flexibly over the week. In addition to this, we offer wrap-around care from 7.30am to 6.00pm at an additional cost.
For safety reasons, we ask that your child is brought to Pre-School by an adult at the beginning of each session and that you come to the Pre-School gate to collect your child each day. Please let us know who will be collecting your child. This is especially important if it is someone different from usual.
